101Hired ("we," "our," or "us") operates the 101Hired web application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google via OAuth.

Interview and Career Data

  • Resume content: If you upload or paste your resume, we store the text to personalize your interview sessions.
  • Job details: Job titles, company names, and job descriptions you provide for interview practice.
  • Interview transcripts: Text transcripts of your interview conversations are stored so you can review your performance.
  • Scores and feedback: Performance scores, coaching feedback, and per-answer analysis generated during your sessions.
  • Body language metrics: If you enable the webcam, aggregate metrics (e.g., eye contact percentage, posture) are derived client-side and stored. No video or images are ever transmitted or stored.

Audio Recordings

During a live interview, your microphone audio is sent to our server and immediately forwarded to OpenAI for speech-to-text transcription. Audio recordings are never stored by 101Hired. They are discarded immediately after transcription. Only the resulting text transcript is saved.

Webcam Video

If you enable the webcam for body language analysis, all video processing happens entirely in your browser using MediaPipe. No video, images, or frames are ever sent to our servers or any third party. Only aggregate summary metrics are stored.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and personalize your mock interview experience
  • To generate AI-powered coaching feedback on your answers
  • To track your progress and score trends over time
  • To authenticate your account and manage your subscription
  • To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that process your data:

OpenAI

Your interview audio (for transcription), resume text, job descriptions, and interview transcripts are sent to OpenAI's API to power the AI interviewer, generate feedback, and score your performance. OpenAI's data usage policies apply to data processed through their API. As of the date of this policy, OpenAI does not use API data to train their models.

Supabase

We use Supabase for authentication and database hosting. All persistent user data (account info, transcripts, scores, resumes) is stored in Supabase with row-level security, meaning users can only access their own data.

Upstash Redis

Used solely for rate limiting. Stores your user ID or IP address with short-lived expiry counters. No personal content is stored.

Google

Google OAuth is available as a sign-in option. Google Fonts are loaded from Google's CDN, which involves your browser sending standard HTTP requests to Google's servers.

Vercel Speed Insights

We use Vercel Speed Insights to measure real-world page performance (Core Web Vitals such as load and responsiveness times). It collects anonymous, aggregated performance metrics only. It does not use cookies, does not store personal information, and is not used for advertising or behavioral tracking.

4. Cookies

We use only functional cookies required for authentication. These are HTTP-only session cookies that contain your authentication tokens. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies.

5. Analytics and Tracking

We do not use any advertising or behavioral tracking services. There is no Google Analytics, no ad pixels, and no cross-site tracking on 101Hired. The only measurement we collect is anonymous, aggregated page-performance data via Vercel Speed Insights (described above), which cannot identify individual users.

6. Data Retention

Your account data, interview transcripts, scores, and resume content are retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual interview sessions or saved jobs from your dashboard at any time. If you wish to delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), row-level security on all database tables, HTTP-only authentication cookies, and server-side token verification. Audio recordings are never persisted, and webcam data never leaves your device.

8. Data Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We may disclose your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Legal requirements: When required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request
  • Safety and protection: When necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of 101Hired, our users, or the public
  • Enforce our terms: To enforce our Terms of Service, including investigating potential violations
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, in which case you will be notified via email or a prominent notice on our site before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your interview data

10. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provides you with additional rights regarding your personal data.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance: Processing your resume, interview transcripts, and scores is necessary to provide the interview coaching service you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interest: Rate limiting and abuse prevention to keep the platform secure and available for all users.
  • Consent: Optional features such as webcam-based body language analysis are only activated when you explicitly enable them.

Your GDPR Rights

In addition to the rights listed in Section 9, you have the right to:

  • Data portability: Receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
  • Restrict processing: Request that we limit how we use your data while a complaint or dispute is being resolved.
  • Object to processing: Object to processing based on legitimate interest, after which we will stop unless we demonstrate compelling grounds.
  • Lodge a complaint: File a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

11. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with additional rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to know: You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which the information was collected, the purpose for collecting the information, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
  • Right to delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions provided by law.
  • Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
  • No sale of personal information: We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA, and have not done so in the preceding 12 months.

12. Children's Privacy

101Hired is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Links to Other Sites

Our service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not operated by us (such as Stripe for payments and Google for authentication). We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
