Lesson 01 · Preparation
Prepare Before You Walk In
Most candidates wing it. The ones who get offers prepare with intention.
What to do
- 1
Research the company. Products, culture, recent news — know why you want to work there specifically.
- 2
Know your resume cold. Every line on it is fair game, because you will be asked about it.
- 3
Build 3 to 5 STAR stories. Choose ones that show different strengths — a hard problem, a conflict, a failure. They cover most behavioral questions.
- 4
Practice out loud. Speaking and thinking feel very different under pressure.
- 5
Prepare your questions. Write down 2 to 3 to ask the interviewer at the end.
The STAR Method
Example
"Last year, our team was behind on a product launch by three weeks."
